+Weld Core *7.0.0.Final* and Weld API *7.0.Final* are now available! +
+As planned, there are *no changes from CR2* — this release finalizes the Weld 7 effort and our compatible implementation of CDI 5.0.
+
+For those joining us from Weld 6, CDI 5.0 brings `@Eager` initialization, `@Reserve` fallback beans, `@AutoClose` resource cleanup, asynchronous method invokers and improvements to build compatible extensions.
+Weld also implements the new client proxy unwrapping API and language model support for records and sealed classes.

+When upgrading, remember that CDI 5.0 requires Java 17 or newer and uses new Maven coordinates: `jakarta.cdi:jakarta.cdi-api`.
+It also removes the deprecated EL methods from `BeanManager` (use `ELAwareBeanManager`) and forbids trimming non-explicit bean archives.
+
+On the Weld side, the main changes to keep in mind are:
+
+* Support for Jakarta Persistence 4.0 `EntityAgent` injection through `@PersistenceAgent`.
+* Removal of `WeldInstance.Handler` and related methods; use the standard `Instance.Handle`, `getHandle()`, `handles()` and `handlesStream()` APIs, plus Weld's `getHandlePriorityComparator()` for priority ordering.
+* Removal of `WeldInvocationContext` and the legacy `org.jboss.weld.interceptor.bindings` context-data entry; use the standard Jakarta Interceptors `InvocationContext` methods to access interceptor bindings.
+* Removal of `WeldContainer.instance()` (use `WeldContainer` directly as an `Instance`) and the `LiteExtensionTranslator(List, ClassLoader)` constructor (use the `Collection` variant).
+* Deprecation of Weld's `@ActivateRequestContext`, `WeldBeanConfigurator` and `WeldAfterBeanDiscovery#addBean()` in favor of their standard CDI equivalents.
+
