CirDial is an MIT-licensed Windows software implementation of a USB HID radial controller.
Public source: https://github.com/xingzhuo/CirDial
Source commit: 1e9c171a5316293313b91f4d3037ab075d463ec8
Product Video: https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV11Ra66zEZg/?vd_source=b63cc94bb44b3828a779f34cbbbd6fa4
The source includes the complete USB device descriptors and USB/IP device implementation, native touch dial, settings UI, shared protocol and tests. Third-party license notices are retained. There is no custom physical PCB or hardware firmware.
This is a software-only PID request. The virtual USB device enumerates through a separately installed USB/IP host controller, so Windows consumes its device descriptor and requires a stable VID/PID. The requested identity belongs to CirDial's virtual USB device implementation, not the third-party host-controller driver. A single PID serves the identical device implementation on ARM64 and x64; requiring each end user to request a different identity would produce multiple registrations for the same software-defined device.
The device implements a HID System Multi-Axis Controller collection for rotation, button and screen-position reports. Its USB/IP service listens only on IPv4 loopback. The current 1209:0001 identity is explicitly restricted to private testing and will not be used for redistribution. We will replace it only after approval.
This PR adds org/xingzhuo/index.md and 1209/C1D1/index.md. The allocation entry was absent and no open request for C1D1 was found before submission. We understand that software-only eligibility requires your review and can provide further justification.
