What changed

  • Saved games verify their replay. Each saved command records a checkpoint (room, score, moves). Resuming stops at the first command whose checkpoint no longer matches (e.g. a save that took the Sanitarium's brass key before the papers had to be searched), keeps the reader's place up to there, shows a notice on the page, and rewrites the save. SavedGames format is bumped to 2; version-1 saves can't be verified and are dropped (no compatibility shim, per project rules).
  • docs-check passes. AppKit.List's docblock had been separated from the function by the columnTemplates helper.
  • zilscript pinned to main (corepunch/zilscript#84): endings after a restore no longer crash llm.lua, the ending's text is returned instead of dropped (the reader now sees a finished story's last words), the companion menu no longer hangs on piped input, and stale room-name tests are fixed.

Verification

  • make test: 209/209; make docs-check: 0 errors.
  • zilscript: test-pure-zil, test-horror-all, test-limehouse-walkthrough (630/630, companion 13/13), test-wondertown-descriptions, lint-zil all pass.

Reviewer notes

  • Existing on-device saves (format 1) will no longer appear in Continue Reading.

A save replays its commands, so after a story changes (the Sanitarium's key
now hides under the papers) a replay could silently play on in a different
world. Each saved command now records a checkpoint (room, score, moves);
a resume stops at the first command whose checkpoint no longer matches,
keeps the reader's place up to there, says so on the page, and rewrites the
save. Saves from before checkpoints cannot be verified and are dropped with
the format bump.

AppKit.List's docblock had been separated from it by a helper, failing
docs-check. Pins zilscript to main with restore-safe endings, which also
brings back the final words of a finished story.
