Description

Adds gpt-6.1-sol to the OpenAI native and OpenAI Codex (ChatGPT Plus/Pro subscription) model catalogs, following the same conventions as the GPT-6 Sol/Luna addition (#1755). Verified against OpenAI's official docs (pricing, model page):

  • Context window: 1,050,000 tokens (max input 922,000; max output 128,000)
  • Standard pricing per 1M tokens (≤272K input): input $2.00, cached input $0.10, cache writes $2.50, output $10.00
  • Long context (>272K input): input $4.00, cached input $0.20, cache writes $5.00, output $15.00 (2x input/cache rates, 1.5x output — matches the shared longContextPricing multiplier structure)
  • Tiers: Flex at 50% of Standard ($1.00 in / $0.05 cached / $1.25 writes / $5.00 out); priority (Fast mode) at 2x Standard ($4.00 in / $0.20 cached / $5.00 writes / $20.00 out)
  • Reasoning effort: low, medium (default), high, xhigh, max — none/minimal are not supported, so requiredReasoningEffort: true is set (same as gpt-6-astra)
  • Modalities: text + image input, text output; verbosity and prompt caching supported; knowledge cutoff Apr 30, 2026

The Codex catalog entry uses subscription pricing ($0) with the 372K context window of its Sol-family predecessors. Provider defaults (gpt-5.6-sol) are unchanged. Note: gpt-6-astra, gpt-6-sol, and gpt-6-luna were already in the catalogs from #1506/#1755 and their numbers still match OpenAI's current docs; there is no 6.x Terra model, so nothing was added for Terra.

Test Procedure

  • pnpm vitest run src/__tests__/openai-models.test.ts in packages/types — 6/6 passed (new full-shape assertions for gpt-6.1-sol in both catalogs)
  • pnpm check-types in packages/types — clean
  • ESLint on the three touched files — clean, no suppression-count changes
  • Full pnpm test from the repo root — 13/13 turbo tasks passed (including webview 162 files / 1,869 tests)
  • Pre-commit hooks (prettier + full turbo lint, 11/11 packages) passed on the delivery commit

Pre-Submission Checklist

  • Issue Linked: No approved issue exists; this is a direct model-catalog request (see above).
  • Scope: My changes are focused on the linked issue (one major feature/fix per PR).
  • Self-Review: I have performed a thorough self-review of my code.
  • Testing: New and/or updated tests have been added to cover my changes (if applicable).
  • Visual Snapshot (UI changes only): Not applicable — data-only catalog entry; the model picker is data-driven and no rendered surface changed.
  • Documentation Impact: Paired docs PR in Zoo-Code-Docs (see Related PRs).
  • Contribution Guidelines: I have read and agree to the Contributor Guidelines.

Visual Snapshots

Not applicable — no user-visible layout/theme/state change; this PR adds a model entry to a static catalog.

Videos (interaction / animation only)

Not applicable.

Documentation Updates

  • Yes, documentation updates are required. Paired PR in Zoo-Code-Org/Zoo-Code-Docs updates the OpenAI provider page with the GPT-6 family reasoning-effort levels (see Related PRs).

Additional Notes

Pricing and context-window figures were taken from developers.openai.com on 2026-09-30. The Codex (ChatGPT subscription) entry follows the repo convention of mirroring Sol-family models into the subscription catalog; if OpenAI has not yet enabled gpt-6.1-sol on the Codex backend, that entry can be dropped without affecting the native provider change.

Add gpt-6.1-sol to the OpenAI native and OpenAI Codex (ChatGPT
subscription) model catalogs with verified metadata from OpenAI's
docs:

- 1,050,000 context window (922K max input), 128K max output
- Standard pricing per MTok (<=272K input): $2.00 input, $0.10
cached input, $2.50 cache writes, $10.00 output
- Long context (>272K): 2x input/cache rates, 1.5x output
- Flex 50% / priority (Fast) 2x tiers
- reasoning.effort low through max (default medium); none/minimal
are not supported, so requiredReasoningEffort is set like Astra
- Text+image input, text output, verbosity, prompt caching

Codex catalog entry uses subscription pricing with the 372K context
window of its Sol-family predecessors. Provider defaults unchanged.
